West Coast jazz emerged in the 1950s in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Featuring laid-back melodies and a chamber aesthetic, it came to represent cool modernism. Led by Tom Fell on baritone saxophone and with special guest Ben Marston on trumpet, this concert showcases the music of Gerry Mulligan and Chet Baker, both synonymous with the west coast sound.
